The magnificent Pointe du Raz headland, a rocky spur which is subjected to the full force of the wind and waves, is situated at the westernmost point of the Cornouaille coast. Officially classified as a "Grand Site de France", it attracts close to a million tourists every year, who come here to admire the unspoilt coastal scenery and rise and fall of its tides. Given the number of visitors, measures have been taken to ensure the long-term protection of the site.
