This tiny church, Panagia Koubelidiki (11C), with a tall dome, stands incongruously in the middle of a car park. All brick and stone, and with a cross-plan layout, it has fine 15C frescoes beneath its porch. But the treasure is inside: a magnificent Dormition of the Mother of God, contemporary with Giotto's works (13C), which is strikingly colourful and richly composed.
