The 10C church of Agii Anargyri is dedicated to Cosmas and Damian, known for treating the sick free of charge (anargyri meaning "without money"). The two saints are portrayed beneath the porch. Most of the frescoes inside are from the 11C or 12C, but an earlier layer, from the 10C, is visible in places. Be sure to take in the very fine Lamentation on the north wall, which prefigures the pietà of Western art.
