Built of pink stone, this great Cistercian abbey is surrounded by the vineyards of the Languedoc. Founded in the 12C, it was one of the richest abbeys in the South of France before war, absentee abbots and decay contributed to its downfall. Today largely restored, its chapter house has a beautiful octagonal fountain with 18C overmounting formed by eight ribs linked by a keystone. The pleasant medieval garden is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll.
