This imposing 16C castle, formerly the seat of the representatives of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, is preceded by an esplanade offering fine views of Udine and the surrounding Friuli countryside. The building is now home to the Musei Civici (archaeological collections, ancient art gallery and Risorgimento Museum) and the Friuli Parliament room (16C) designed by Giovanni da Udine and decorated with frescoes dating from the 16C-18C.
