This neo-classical-looking house once belonged to Zahari Stojanov (1850-89), a politician, a journalist, a historian and above all a passionate supporter of the Bulgarian national movement. The portraits, photos and objects (weapons, uniforms, irons worn by convicts, flags) on display illustrate the saga of the struggle against the Ottomans in the region of Ruse. They recall the great figures involved, such as the legendary "baba" Tonka and her children. As for the owner of the house, he left some of his works. His library and his study can be visited.
