This museum has three floors of beautiful archaeological exhibits, including a floor mosaic representing two cockerels, found in a 1C Roman villa, and "Palaeo-Croatian" structures with typical interlacing. The second floor focuses on the Roman era and the early Middle Ages and features some of the museum's finest exhibits: don't miss the fragment of mosaic from St Maria Formosa church and the ivory chest adorned with delicate and beautifully carved Dionysian scenes (9C-11C).
