A road out of Dundalk explores the peninsula of Cooley. Past Ravensdale, head towards Omeath and up to Windy Gap, one of the highest points of the peninsula. The vision of the unspoiled moors is particularly breathtaking in summer when the mauve heather alternates with clumps of bright yellow broom and green ferns. The road down to Omeath also commands a fine panorama over the bay and the mountains.
