The granite headland of this peninsula commanding splendid landscapes looks south over Dundalk bay and north over the saltwater Carlingford Lough. Its highest point is Carlingford Mount (587m/1,925ft). Don't miss Proleek Dolmen, an impressive table weighing over 50 tons, or the wild and windswept moors of Windy Gap. Taín Way (35 km/22mi), which forms a loop out of Carlingford, is one of the best ways to explore this landscape.
