Central Park Lake, near Bethesda Fountain Terrace, is dominated by the steep wooded area of the Ramble, whose visitors include men cruising for anonymous encounters. To the west, the Strawberry Fields Memorial Garden, honours John Lennon, who was murdered at the foot of the nearby Dakota Building. Going around the lake to the right, you come to Loeb Boathouse, where you can rent canoes and have a meal. The graceful metal Bow Bridge connects to the north of the park.
