A visit to the 9/11 Museum, devoted to the tragedy of September 11, 2001, is inevitably tinged with emotion and sadness. The thousands of objects left behind after the catastrophe speak volumes of the lives destroyed. The photos, videos and recordings left by people trapped in the towers or the airplanes are even more heartrending. The museum pays homage to each of the 2,973 victims, despite its theme park allure, which has given rise to a certain amount of controversy.
