The Jardin de Balata is a botanical garden designed by Jean-Philippe Thoze, who collected over 3 000 endemic, tropical plants over a 20-year period. Balisiers, torch gingers, begonias, orchids and bromeliads paint a vivid scene, where bright splashes of colour alternate with dense greenery, a lovely setting for a pleasant interlude with a delightful soundtrack of birdsong. There is also a bamboo grove and a palm grove. The interplay of the sound of the water springs and the singing of birds contribute to the feeling of harmony.
