Located near the Bridge of the Americas, this memorial to peaceful US-Mexico relations recalls the 1963 resolution of a century-old border dispute caused by the shifting of the Rio Grande's course. A visitor center presents a 12min video on border history; Los Paisanos Gallery exhibits paintings, sculpture and photography from several countries. A 120ft-long mural by Carlos Flores, Nuestra Herencia ("Our Heritage"), depicts in four panels the blending of American and Hispanic cultures. Within the 55-acre park is the Córdova Island Trail (1.8mi), with views of the El Paso skyline and surrounding mountains. On many evenings, the park's 500-seat indoor theater offers performances by ballet folklórico troupes or modern dancers.
