Puig des Molins Necropolis was used as a burial place by the Phoenicians from the 7C BC, then by the Romans until the 1C. More than 3 000 underground burial vaults were discovered in the hillside: funeral chambers accessed via a well. Items that accompanied the deceased, including utensils used in both everyday life and as part of the funeral rites, are exhibited in the Monographic Museum. Note the bust of the goddess Tanith (5C BC).
