The fortifications encircling Domme are adapted to the natural and abrupt site of the city, as are the streets, all of which attempt to follow a geometrical layout. The walk inside the ramparts begins at the Porte del Bos. The Place de la Halle, in the centre, features a 17C dry stone market hall, while opposite is the 15C Governor's house flanked by a small observation turret, now the tourist office.
