Built in the early 20C as a symbol of the predominance of the Orthodox faith over other religions, this Neo-Byzantine cathedral is adorned with Neo-Romanian decorative elements. The lavishly appointed interior is definitely worth a visit, particularly to admire its fine Murano glass mosaic decoration, crated by Virgil Morariu in 2001. The five-tiered iconostasis is mainly the work of master craftsman Gheorghe Russu.
