This 41-storey building (1929, Walter, W. Ahlschlager) originally housed the Medinah Athletic Club, an exclusive men's club for the Chicago Shriners. All that has survived of the building is the swimming pool on the 13th floor. After its closure in 1943, the hotel was sold, restored and extended to adjoin its neighbour, the Forum Hotel Chicago: it is now made up of two towers linked by a glass entry lobby. A large Egyptian-style Indiana limestone frieze decorates its façade.
