Cap de Barbaria, the southernmost tip of Formentera Island and the closest point to the Barbary coast (North Africa), is the site of a 78m/256ft-high lighthouse built in the 1970s. Some hundred yards to the right facing the sea, lies the rocky entrance to the underground Cova Forrada cave. Crawl inside as far as the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea. You will also see the Garroveret Tower, a 10min-walk from the lighthouse, an 18C defensive structure.
