It is in the caravanserai and shopping streets around the Great Mosque that you can really feel the pulse of Bursa. Start at Orhan mosque, the oldest imperial place of worship in Bursa (1339), rebuilt in the 15C and again in the 19C. Orhan Gazi Square is laid out around a fountain. Why not stop for a drink and watch the crowds as they head to the nearby shopping arcades and covered market? On the opposite side of the square admire the imposing presence of the Great Mosque.
