This particularly interesting museum showcases the history of man in the Aquitaine from prehistory to the present day. In addition to the treasures from Tayrac (2C BC) and the Garonne (4 000 coins), the latter dating from the Gallo-Roman period, the rooms devoted to the 18C and 19C highlight triangular trade, the colonies, and the role of the port in Bordeaux's development. The museum's newest exhibition rooms retrace changes to the city landscape, both in the past and future.
