This black granite outcrop, enclosing Ajaccio bay to the north, is topped by Parata tower, built by the Genoese to protect the islands from barbarian attacks. At the tip of the headland (reached via an easily accessible footpath), you will be greeted by a close-up view of the Sanguinaires islands. You can also climb up to the Genoese tower via a steep footpath (10-min return walk). Come early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds!
