Housed in the Palais Fesch, the construction of which started in 1827, this museum houses one of the largest collections of Italian paintings (Botticelli, Giovanni Bellini, Cosimo Tura, Titian etc) in France, as well as works from the French, Spanish, Flemish and Dutch Schools. These canvases were bequeathed to the town by the famous Cardinal Fesch, a collector and the uncle of the emperor. Following significant restoration work, the museum is now a cultural showcase for the region.
