Den Gamle By, the "Old Town", standing in parkland along Viborgvej in the west of the city centre, is one of the finest open-air museums in Denmark. Around 80 old buildings from towns across the country, dating from the 18C to the 20C, have been carefully reconstructed here to create a town of yesteryear. These include workshops, a school, a chemist's, bakery and post office. At the end of the itinerary, Aarhus Story proposes a fabulous journey back in time.
