Melrose is certainly one of the more attractive Borders towns and Provender has become a part of its fabric now. Situated down a passageway just off the main street, it's a versatile place – offering everything from mid-morning eggs Benedict to a celebratory dinner kicked off with Cumbrae oysters. Binding it all together is great use of ingredients from the local estates and producers, be it fish from the North Sea or crab caught off the coast at Eyemouth. The set lunch menu offers good value for money.
