This restaurant is housed in the old and picturesque Archers’ Tower in Ljubljana, one of the city’s most iconic tourist sights. Adorned with decorative murals from the 1950s, the dining room now provides the backdrop for chef Igor Jagodic’s surprise tasting menu (5,7 or 9 courses). Dishes are modern and creative, with occasional French and Mediterranean influences, as demonstrated by the turbot escalope in a lemon breaded crust, which is sautéed in butter and finished with a beurre blanc sauce. We can also recommend the cheese, shallot and beer mousse dumpling. When it comes to choosing wine, either speak with the sommelier or browse through the wine list which includes some excellent Slovenian options, as well as labels from further afield, some of which are available by the glass. We particularly enjoyed the Edi Simčič Triton 2022, a dry, medium-bodied white with interesting vegetal notes.
