This laid-back establishment has the feel of a traditional bistro but with a Scandinavian twist. As you walk in, you will see the baker kneading dough and the odd customer coming to buy bread. Make no mistake, though: this place has a great menu of well-crafted dishes. This Amsterdam version of a French bistro honours classics such as snails in herb butter, wood pigeon pithivier, foie gras and tarte Tatin. It is rich in flavour, generous and inspired, and the fantastic value for money is an added bonus.
