These two squares form a vast esplanade parallel to the River Ebre and are the setting for Zaragoza's main monuments: the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar and the Seo or Cathedral of San Salvador. They are also a popular evening meeting point for the locals, and where pilgrims gather during the Pilar religious festival. The fountain at the far west end, the Fuente de la Hispanidad, represents Latin America. The other fountain in front of the Lonja (Stock Exchange) is dedicated to Goya.
