This is one of the most famous and highest summits of the Vosges Mountains (1 366m), and is also the highest point of the ridge which, before the First World War, marked the border between France and Germany. A splendid panorama unfolds, sweeping over the Vosges from Mt Donon to the Grand Ballon, the Plaine d'Alsace and the Black Forest. In fine weather, you can see as far as the Alps.
