The imposing Baroque western façade is attributed to Johann Dientzenhofer. The interior, remodelled in the 18C, has coloured decoration only under the vaulted roof but is richly ornamented and boasts a Riemenschneider Virgin and Child and a curious Christ, his arms folded across his chest. In the west crypt lies the tomb of St Killian, apostle and patron saint of Franconia, who was executed in Würzburg in 689.
