This museum was opened in 2019 to coincide with the centenary of the Bauhaus School, which flourished here from 1919 to 1925, when it left for Dessau. It explores by theme the history of the workshops where, at first, one-off pieces were created, and later (from 1923), items were designed to be produced in larger runs. The pieces in the riche collection of Walter Gropius include Wilhelm Wagenfeld's lamp, Marianne Brandt's teapot and furniture by Mies van der Rohe.
