The immaculate site, planted with roses and rhododendrons, is the final retsing place of 7 989 Americans soldiers who died in the Ardennes or Germany in 1944-1945. White marble crosses and Star of David headstones are laid out on slightly sloping lawns and in arcs converging on the memorial, inside of which is a small museum. It presents an account and maps of the end of the American campaign. There is a panoramic view over the Herve plateau from the terrace opposite the cemetery.
