The old law court which now houses the Maritime Museum of British Columbia conserves documents relating to Pacific Coast explorers, scale models and navigation instruments. Of special interest are the Tilikum, a converted First Nations dugout canoe that sailed from Victoria to England in the early 1900s, and the Trekka, a 6m/20ft sailing boat, built in Victoria, that sailed around the world from 1955 to 1959, the smallest boat ever to undertake such a voyage.
