The present neo-Classical cathedral (18C) has kept the bell tower and crypt of the 11C building it replaced. Inside you can admire a 15C altarpiece on the high altar, as well as paintings by Josep Maria Sert (1874-1945). Hugely symbolic, they cover an extensive set of iconographic motifs: from original sin (in the transept) to the Passion of Christ (in the apse) and the martyrdom of the Apostles (in the nave). The painter's final work, A Crucifixion, hangs in the cloisters above his tomb.
