Built by the Counts of Vianden, this castle has been the focus of careful renovation work which has restored its late-17C character. The heyday of the counts of Vianden was in the 12C and 13C, and most of the buildings date from this period. Sights of interest include the huge Salle des Chevaliers in the impressive Grand Palais, as well as a fine collection of tapestries, an exhibition in the archaeological crypt, beautiful views from the parapet walk, and a garden.
