Built between 1250 and 1312, this Gothic fortified church has a monumental Renaissance portal representing the Evangelists.The interior, with chapels laid out around the choir (fine 14C Virgin), has 17C Baroque reredoses, frescoes by José Bravo, and Baroque pulpits decorated with cherubs. In the entrance is the tombstone of Cesare Borgia (son of Pope Alexander VI, cardinal and brother of the famous Lucrezia), who died in battle in 1507 beneath the ramparts of Viana.
