Colón Market is established in a handsome 1913 edifice by Francisco Mora Berenguer to which artist Ramón Roca and sculptor Ricardo Tárrega both contributed. The ornate main façade is characteristic of Valence: "rusticated" stone, colourful mosaics, architectural ceramics and stained glass. Inside the large hall, whose resemblance to a market is well-nigh imperceptible, is now home to fashionable shops and the customary trendy bars and restaurants.
