At the entrance to the cloister is a copy of a 10C rune stone from Jelling (Denmark), illustrating the conversion of the Danes to Christianity. The gables at the entrance have low-reliefs on the life of St Martin, the patron saint of the old cathedral and the town. From the cloister garden, there is an attractive view over the transept and the chevet of the cathedral. Notice, in the alley of Achter de Dom, the rear façade (stepped gable and angle tower) of the old chapter room.
