Splendid cliffs enclose the wooded valley that cuts into the flanks of Glandasse mountain. The landscape is stunning in the late afternoon when the setting sun turns the rock a rich golden colour. The immense promontory of the Jardin du Roi dominates the bottom of the crater, at the foot of which nestles the hamlet of Archiane, whose road is lined in pruned boxwood hedges. The lovely "Sentier des Vautours" hike leaving from the village and skirting the cirque will acquaint you with local flora.
