The huge castle that dominates the city of Trenčin is one of the most spectacular in Central Europe and the second most important in Slovakia. Its history goes back to the 11C. During a visit, you will see the fortifications of this prodigious fortress, as well as the Well of Love: legend has it that the well was dug by Omar, a Turkish prince, to get back a princess who had been brought back to Trenčín in 1475 by Zapolya, the magnate who owned the castle at the time.
