This palazzo takes its name from the two "Madame Reali" (royal ladies) who lived here in the 17C and 18C: Christine of France (1606-63), the widow of Victor-Amadeus I, and Jeanne of Savoy-Nemours -1644-1724), widow of Charles Emmanuel II. The 14C and 15C castle was extended in the early 17C with the addition of a large assembly room. In the 18C, the architect Juvarra created the splendid Baroque façade and sumptuous monumental staircase. The palace is home to the superb Museo Civico d'Arte Antica.
