Soyons caves are a key site for the study of Neanderthal man. You can explore a large network of underground galleries starting from the Trou du Renard (foxhole), which leads to several other chambers. Decorated with concretions of various shapes, some impressive in size, these chambers would appear to have been occupied very early on by cavemen and animals, as borne out by the bones of bears, wolves and cave lions discovered here.
