The climb up the hill to reach the 15C Gothic church of St. Nicholas is fully rewarded by its interior. Indeed, inside are wall paintings (1488) depicting the Passion of Christ by Austrian artist, Jacobus Kendlinger. Like all Saxon churches, it boasts fine polyptych altarpieces, which used to be opened on feast days. Note especially those of the Passion of Christ from a Cund church, and St Nicholas from Beia.
