In the northeast of Shodo-shima Island, this spectacular landscape rising as high as 800m, was sculpted by erosion over a million years ago. A cable car goes up to an altitude of 612m, commanding a magnificent view of the coast and the Inland Sea. Paths have been laid out linking various viewpoints over the strangely shaped rocks and the primeval forest covering the mountainside. Experienced hikers can go up or down on foot.
