The area that stretches from Cap de Roccapina to the headland in the south is a conservation area, inhabited by large populations of aquatic birds and also home to a magnificent fine sandy beach at Cala di Roccapina. On a headland near a Genoese tower, the Rocher du Lion, a monumental natural sculpture in the shape of a reclining lion, stands out on the skyline. This is a gigantic tafonu, produced by atmogenic erosion of granitic rock (at the pass, a museum provides information on the history of taffoni).
