From Hyères to St Raphaël, the emerald-green vegetation of the Maures mountains extends down to the sea. Resorts line the coast, affording additional viewpoints over stunning landscapes, including the scenic Corniche des Maures road skirting the coast. The hinterland was long isolated and remains wild. It is home to interesting sites such as the village of Grimaud, Verne Monastery and the villages of Collobrières and Bormes-les-Mimosas.
