Emblematic of Saint Raphael with its walls in pink sandstone from Esterel and its neo-Byzantine dome, this unusual edifice was built in 1833 by Pierre Aublé, who designed many of St Raphaël's villas. Inside the oriental-inspired decoration of the vault of the chancel is reminiscent of Istanbul's basilica of St Sophie; also look out for the Moorish looking openings in the nave.
