A favourite haunt of anglers, who come here to tickle the arctic char, the blue waters of Tazenat lie within a volcanic crater lake, a maar, which feeds the Rochegude stream. The lake, which lies on the northern border of the Puys chain of mountains, has a surface area of 32ha and is up to 90m deep in places. Its shores, over 50m high, form an almost perfect circle. The entire spot is rich in Instagram potential!
