This church, a beautiful little example of colonial architecture, stands in the heart of the Glória district, which was highly coveted in the 19C when Rio was the federal capital. The Igreja de N. S. da Glória do Outeiro (1739) was one of the first churches built in Rio and used to hold services for the royal family. Behind the elegant exterior you will discover wood panelling and period azulejos. From here you can also enjoy views over the Marina da Glória and the Parque do Flamengo.
