From Randa the road climbs up tight hairpin bends to the monastery on top of the hill. The buildings, occupied by the Franciscans from 1913, have been restored and modernised and now house a comfortable hotel and a restaurant. You can visit the 17C church, the Sala de Grammática, and a small museum. Don't miss the terrace on the west side and its wonderful view over Palma, the bay and Puig Major. Towards the northeast the view takes in the Cap de Formentor headland.
