Saltram House is a magnificent Tudor mansion (late medieval) that was restored after a fire in the 18C by great artists such as Adam, Chippendale, Reynolds and Angelica Kauffmann. Consequently, it boasts some of the finest rooms in the country. Visitors can admire the furniture, portraits, paintings and an outstanding collection of porcelain. In spite of alterations made in 1818 (music room and a balustraded porch with Doric columns), the house remains close to its 18C incarnation.
